Morning Walks & Tulip Talk: Finding Creative Inspiration in the Garden that I pass…

There’s something magical about early morning walks, when the world is still stretching, the air is cool and soft, and even the birds seem to sing a little more sweetly. Lately, I’ve been making a ritual of stepping outside with a camera in my pocket, and no agenda but to wander.

And what I keep coming back to are the wonderful gardens I see blooming more and more each day as the weather warms.

This week, the tulips have taken center stage. Pinks, reds, yellows, and purples dancing together under the shade of twisted tree trunks. They don’t worry about clashing or matching—they just bloom.

As I walk along pausing beside a weathered tree stump or kneeling down to admire a particularly bold blossom, I find myself thinking about colours. Not just the colours in the garden, but how they translate into my crafting with paper choices, project palettes, even fussy cutting inspiration.

I recently added new paper colours to my stash:

Cloud Cover, Timid Tiger, Strawberry Slush, Secret Sea, and Darling Duckling and I think, I can spot each of them reflected somewhere in the tulip patch.

Whether you’re a paper crafter, a writer, or just someone trying to slow down and reconnect with the moment, I highly recommend these little walks. Bring your notebook, bring your thoughts, or just bring yourself. Inspiration has a way of showing up when you do.

Happy Walking and happy making. ❤️
